The 1836 Kentucky gubernatorial election was held on 1 August 1836 in order to elect the Governor of Kentucky. Whig nominee and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Kentucky's 3rd district James Clark defeated Democratic nominee Matthews Flournoy.[1]
