The 1939 Summer Deaflympics (Swedish: 1939 Sommardeaflympics) officially known as 5th International Silent Games (Swedish: 5: e Internationella Tysta Spelen), was an international multi-sport event that was held from 24 to 27 August 1939 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The 5th Summer Deaflympics Games were originally scheduled to be held from 22 October to 3 November 1940 in Tokyo, but was decided to host it in 1939 due to the schedule of 1940 Summer Olympics.[1]
