The 1942 Villanova Wildcats football team represented the Villanova University during the 1942 college football season. The head coach was Maurice J. "Clipper" Smith, coaching his seventh season with the Wildcats. The team played their home games at Villanova Stadium in Villanova, Pennsylvania.[1]

Villanova was ranked at No. 61 (out of 590 college and military teams) in the final rankings under the Litkenhous Difference by Score System for 1942.[2]
