The 2006 Italian Open[3][4] (also known as 2006 Rome Masters[5][6][7] and the 2006 Internazionali d'Italia) was a tennis tournament played on clay courts. It was the 63rd edition of the Italian Open and was part of the ATP Masters Series of the 2006 ATP Tour and of the Tier I Series of the 2006 WTA Tour. It took place at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy from 8 May through 22 May 2006.
