The 4th Regiment Arkansas Volunteer Infantry (Union) (1863–1865) was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Although Arkansas joined the Confederate States of America in 1861, not all of its citizens supported secession. Around 48 infantry regiments were established in Arkansas to serve in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. However, it is noteworthy that 11 additional regiments were also formed in Arkansas and served in the Union Army.[1]
