Jacob Denzal Canady (born December 10, 1998), known professionally as ATL Jacob , is an American hip hop record producer . He rose to mainstream recognition in 2022 following his string of successful productions for fellow Atlanta native Future , having formerly served as an in-house producer for his record label, Freebandz . His production style has been described as "dark" or "mellow".[ 5] [ 6]
Born and raised in Atlanta , Canady began his music career at age 14.[ 7] At the 65th Annual Grammy Awards , he earned a nomination for Best Rap Song for his work on Future's "Wait for U ".[ 8] The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 , while his other production, "Super Gremlin " by Florida rapper Kodak Black , peaked at number three on the chart that same year.[ 9] The following year, he produced the single "Last Time I Saw You " for Nicki Minaj [ 10] and released his debut single as a recording artist, "MF Problem".[ 11]
He was nominated as Producer of the Year for the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards , and won XXL magazine's 2023 Producer of the Year title.[ 12]
