Abdulrahman El Bahnasawy is a Canadian citizen who was convicted in 2016 of terrorism-related offenses. According to prosecutors, El Bahnasawy plotted via online chat to carry out an attack on Times Square and the subway system in New York City.[1] In December 2018, El Bahnasawy was sentenced to 40 years in a US federal prison.[2]
