Andlau (French pronunciation: [ɑ̃dlo] or [andlau];[3] Alsatian: Àndlöi) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Alsace, Grand Est region of northeastern France.
The village owes its origin to Andlau Abbey which was founded in 880 by Richardis, the empress of Charles the Fat.[4] Andlau has been a wine-growing centre and traveler destination since its earliest days.
The commune has been awarded two flowers by the National Council of Towns and Villages in Bloom in the Competition of cities and villages in Bloom.[5]
