Aphex is a brand of audio signal processing equipment. Aphex Systems was founded in 1975 in Massachusetts. The name is shorthand for "Audio Perception Heterodyne Exciter",^[1] in reference to its original product, the Aphex Aural Exciter. The company changed its name to Aphex in 2010.
