Artaeus ( Ancient Greek: Ἀρταῖος. Old Persian: R̥taya), is the legendary sixth king of Media mentioned by Ctesias, who succeeded Arbian, and not Sardanapalus. Artaeus was the father of Artachaees and Azanes.
