Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (French pronunciation: [obtɛʁ syʁ dʁɔn], literally Aubeterre on Dronne; Occitan: Aubaterra or Aubaterra de Drona, before 1962: Aubeterre)[3] is a commune in the Charente department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of Southwestern France.[4]

Located on the river Dronne, on the departmental border with Dordogne, Aubeterre-sur-Dronne has been a member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (The Most Beautiful Villages of France) Association since 1993. It is well known for its Church of Saint Jean, an underground, Monolithic church.
