Auxenochlorella pyrenoidosa,[1] formerly Chlorella pyrenoidosa, is a species of the freshwater green alga in the Division Chlorophyta. It occurs worldwide. The species name pyrenoidosa refers to the presence of a prominent pyrenoid within the Chlorella chloroplast.
