It is an artificial island in the Persian Gulf.[4] Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara was built there.[5]
The island covers 20 hectares (0.20 km2; 49 acres) and has its own marina and reefs. The entire structure was completed by 2015.[6] It has diverse vegetation such as palm trees and gardens and luxurious facilities for tourists.[1]
