Christopher Chahn Bahng[1][2][3] (born 3 October 1997), known professionally as Bang Chan (Korean: 방찬), is an Australian singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer based in South Korea. Signed to JYP Entertainment, he is the leader of the South Korean boy band Stray Kids.
Bang Chan played a key role in forming Stray Kids, as he selected the trainees he felt fit his vision, chose the group's name, and designed their logo. The survival show Stray Kids documented the process, focusing on whether Bang Chan's team would debut together, contrasting the typical survival show format where agency management selects and conceptualizes the lineup.
He has been a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association since February 2023, and, as of September 2024, has registered credits on 194 songs. In addition to writing and producing songs for Stray Kids, he has composed for the TV series Pop Out Boy!, Tower of God, Re:Revenge- In the End of Desire, and Arcane, as well as the films Doraemon: Nobita's Sky Utopia and Deadpool & Wolverine. Bang Chan has also written tracks for artists including JO1, Yao Chen, and Show Lo, and has collaborated with artists such as Alesso, Sky-Hi, Tiger JK, Lil Durk, and Japanese singer Lisa.
