Betteshanger is a village and former civil parish. now in the parish of Northbourne, in the Dover district, in east Kent, UK, near Deal. It gave its name to the largest of the four chief collieries of the Kent coalfield.[1] In 1931 the parish had a population of 55.[2] On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Northbourne.[3]
