Cherpunkal is a small town in the Kottayam district of Kerala State in India[1] on the Kottayam-Palai Road, seven kilometers from Pala city.[2]
Cherpunkal is famous for Mar Sleeva Forane Catholic Church,[3] believed to have been established by Thomas the Apostle. It is also believed that St.Thomas left his sandals there while taking a bath in a nearby Meenachil River.
