Deira (/ˈdrə, ˈdɛərə/ DY-rə, DAIR;[1] Old Welsh/Cumbric: Deywr or Deifr; Old English: Derenrice or Dere) was an area of Post-Roman Britain, and a later Anglian kingdom.[2]
