In the Odyssey by Homer, Demodocus (/dɪˈmɒdəkəs/; Greek: Δημόδοκος, translit. Dēmódokos) is a poet who often visits the court of Alcinous, king of the Phaeacians on the island of Scherie. During Odysseus' stay on Scherie, Demodocus performs three narrative songs.
