Alan Murín, known as Alan Murin, previously performing under the pseudonym Sane [pronounced: seɪn] (* October 23, 1998, Bratislava, Slovakia) is a Slovak singer, composer, music producer and sound engineer. He has been active on the Slovak music scene since 2019, when he presented himself with his debut EP trilogy – 15 23, 23 10 and 19 98. In the same year, the singer Tina approached him about collaboration, after she discovered one of his first hits "Vypínam",[1] which received a significant response. [2] Tina called it one of the most important songs on the Slovak music scene. [1] This success was followed by several singles, with which he gained the attention of a wider audience and gradually established himself as a prominent figure on the Slovak music scene with his musical ambition. In a relatively short career, he not only gained a wide fan base[3], but also received recognition for his original musical style, talent and creative approach from the artistic community,[2][4] which opened the door to collaborations with several internationally recognized artists and producers. He has collaborated with interprets such as Kali, Rytmus, Ego, Separ, Majk Spirit, Tina, Pil C, Celeste Buckingham, Dominika Mirgová, ADiss, Momo, or the band Moja Reč. He also collaborated with foreign artists such as Raunii, IOVA and Serban Cazan. His long-awaited debut album Trueself, on which he collaborated with several Slovak artists, was released in 2022. The album was a success at the domestic level, when it debuted at the top of the Slovak albums chart of the Czech National Music Institute IFPI.[5] In the same year, he won three awards at the Ruka Hore Awards and his debut took 2nd place in the Album of the Year category.[6] In addition, he released four EPs. Among his biggest hits are the songs "Do Rúk", "Raz Dva Tri", "Dokola" and "Prepáč". He is actively involved in music engineering and production, while also writing his own song lyrics. It has productions in Great Britain, the USA, the Czech Republic and Romania.[7] He produced songs for Dominika Mirgová, for example.
His music videos on YouTube often occupy the top ranks of the Slovak YouTube trending chart. It first reached its peak with the music video for the single "Prepáč"[8] within hours of its release. He maintained this lead for several weeks.[9] He dominated the YouTube trending chart again with the duet "Do Rúk" with Tina, even without a music video for the song.[10] Thanks to the huge response, a music video was created for it, which is still the most watched music video of the singer's own work on the platform with more than 6.9 million views.[11] The hit "Raz Dva Tri" succeeded to go trending on Slovak YouTube as his third one.[12] Alan Murin's YouTube channel has more than 46 million views to date.
Alan Murin is known for his distinctive interpretation, authenticity and directness.[13] His musical style and sound are influenced by a wide variety of musical genres, including pop, rock, hip-hop and electronic music.[14] He himself classifies his work as New Pop, which, however, is based on a long-standing affection for rap.[15] He has a distinctive style that combines modern sounds with honest lyrics, often exploring themes of love and personal experience. In addition to a very specific sound quality, his asset is his musical education.[15] After two years of intensive work in the Slovak music industry, he became one of the most active Slovak performers.[16] In a relatively short career, he has been able to put out more than forty music videos and was a guest on another fifteen.
