Hector Izquierdo Triana is the Special Commissioner [1] [2]of the Government of Spain for the reconstruction[3] of the 2021 volcanic eruptions in La Palma [4], one of the biggest[5] natural disasters[6] in Europe since 1945[7]. He was the Spanish Secretary of State of Finance [8] and President of the Spanish Tax Agency when he was appointed Commissioner. In 2024, he was awarded with the Knighthood of the [9] Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Civil Merit a similar order such as Order of the British Empire or Legion of Honour, members are granted legal privileges, including a style of address and a heraldic achievement.
