Pierre de Saint Roman was a French officer and aviator, born on December 23, 1891 in Toul (Meurthe-et-Moselle), who disappeared in the South Atlantic, off the coasts of Brazil, on May 6, 1927. He pioneered the crossing by airplane of the South Atlantic, disappearing during the attempt after having achieved the feat in all likelihood, with his two companions in May 1927[2].
