Eat the Document is a 2006 novel by American writer Dana Spiotta about New Left activists in the 1970s and their successors a generation later in the 1990s. Its title refers to a 1972 documentary about Bob Dylan.[1] It was a National Book Award finalist[2] and won the Rosenthal Foundation Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.[3]
