Embu das Artes, previously and commonly known simply as Embu, is a Brazilian municipality in the State of São Paulo. It is part of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.[2] The population is 276,535 (2020 est.) in an area of 70.40 km2.[3]
Its history brought it an unexpected specialization as a city for artists. This has paid tourism dividends to the city.[citation needed]
