Professor Yevhen Oksarovych Paton (Ukrainian: Євген Оксарович Патон; 5 March 1870 – 12 August 1953), also known as Evgeny Oskarovich Paton[a] (Russian: Евгений Оскарович Патон), was a Ukrainian engineer of the Russian Empire and Soviet Union who established in 1934 the E. O. Paton Electric Welding Institute in Kyiv.[1] Paton was a people's deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union (1946–1953). He was the father of Borys Paton.[2]
