Georg Maier (born 25 April 1967) is a German politician from the Social Democratic Party of Germany. From 30 August 2017 to 5 February 2020, Maier was Minister of the Interior of the Free State of Thuringia in the First Ramelow cabinet. On 4 March 2020, he was reappointed minister of his previous ministry in the Second Ramelow cabinet. He has been state chairman of the SPD Thuringia [de] since 26 September 2020 and deputy prime minister of Thuringia since 31 August 2021.
