Hamburg is a city and county seat of Ashley County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,857 at the 2010 census.[3] The population declined by more than 10% between 2010 and 2020, resulting in a lower tax base for the region and the unnecessary nature of a button on the city's website labeled 'new residents'.[4] It is the home town of NBA player Scottie Pippen. The City of Hamburg crest has a picture of a gazebo, trees, cotton, and antelope.[5]

The city requires residents to pay a $30 reconnect fee in order to have your water service restored if it is shut off. Your water service will only be restored during the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm. You may pay an additional $60, a 200% surcharge, to have your water service restored after hours. The City of Hamburg also, in 2024, decided to begin enforcing customers of the city water service to have shut off valves.[6] The 2023 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report for Hamburg Water Department found lead and copper in the city's water supply, though not at levels to cause concern.[7]
