Harvey Tuckett

Harvey Garnet Phipps Tuckett (born 17 November 1799 at Saint Kitts, West Indies,[1] died 2 January 1854 in Philadelphia[2]) was an officer in an English cavalry regiment who, in 1838 after long service in England and India, retired on half pay to become an actor. Shortly after his retirement from the army he defended himself in a duel with Lord Cardigan, his former commanding officer, and was severely wounded in the hip. He emigrated to the US and became an actuarial adviser to life insurance companies in Philadelphia.
