Herrlisheim is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.[3] The town dates from the 8th century. Herrlisheim was the scene of very heavy fighting during Operation Nordwind, an offensive launched by the German Army during World War II that inflicted considerable damage to the town.
