History of the Jews in Kairouan

The Tunisian city of Kairouan (Hebrew: קירואן, Arabic: قيروان Qirwān), also known as Kirwan or al-Qayrawan was a world center of Talmudic and Halakhic scholarship[1]: 29  for at least three generations.
