Hongik University (Korean: 홍익대학교; RR: Hongik Daehakgyo; colloquially as Hongdae) is a private university in Mapo, Seoul, South Korea. It was founded in 1946. The university also maintains a branch campus in Sejong City.[2]
The university's colloquial name, "Hongdae", is a metonymy for the neighborhood, Hongdae area.[3]
