Mīrzā Muḥammad Iʿtiṣām ad-Dīn Panchnūrī or Itesham Uddin, was a Bengali diplomat for the Mughal Empire. He became the first South Asian to travel to Europe, in the modern era, in 1765.[1][2] He was also a munshi serving the Nawabs of Bengal as well as the British East India Company.[3] He had also written the text of the 1765 Treaty of Allahabad.[4]
