Tan Sri Haji Ismail bin Haji Omar (Jawi: اسماعيل بن عمر; born 17 May 1953) is a Malaysian diplomat and retired police officer who served as the ninth Inspector-General of Police of Malaysia[1] succeeding Tan Sri Musa Hassan and was succeeded by Khalid Abu Bakar. On 13 September 2013, he was appointed the Ambassador of Malaysia to France by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.[2]
