Izhemsky District (Russian: Иже́мский райо́н; Komi: Изьва район, Iźva rajon) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twelve in the Komi Republic, Russia.[1] It is located in the north of the republic. The area of the district is 18,420 square kilometers (7,110 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Izhma.[1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 18,771, with the population of Izhma accounting for 20.0% of that number.[2]
