James Murphy (born 28 August 1989) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Scottish Championship club Ayr United.
Born in Glasgow, Murphy has previously played for Scottish clubs Motherwell, Rangers, Hibernian and St Johnstone, and English clubs Sheffield United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Burton Albion and Mansfield Town. He played for the Scotland U19 and Scotland U21 representative teams, and made his full international debut for Scotland in March 2018.
