James Theodoric David (December 2, 1927 – July 29, 2007) was an American football defensive back and coach for the in the National Football League (NFL). He attended Colorado A&M, now known as Colorado State University. David was selected in the twenty-second round of the 1952 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions. After retiring in 1959, David went on to coach for the Los Angeles Rams San Francisco 49ers as a defensive backs coach and then with the Detroit Lions as their defensive coordinator.[1][2]
