Matadi indicate he was born in 1914. The 1920 U.S. Federal Census lists him (with the first name "Treville") as being 5 years old, consistent with being born in 1914. The 1930 U.S Federal Census lists him (still under the first name Treville) living with his divorced mother and younger brother Louis.
