John Phillip Devine (born October 3, 1958) is an American attorney and judge who is a justice on the Supreme Court of Texas.[1] A Republican, he was a judge on a Texas District Court from 1995 to 2002. Since 2013, he has been on the Texas Supreme Court. According to The Texas Tribune, Devine's juridicial philosophy is strongly "shaped by his religious beliefs and deeply conservative politics."[2]
