Joo Chiat Road (/ˌdʒuː ˈtʃjɛt/, JOO-CHYET) is a road in Joo Chiat District and a residential conservation area located in the east coast of Singapore.
It has won several architectural and heritage awards including the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation at 125 Joo Chiat Road.[1] The area has the most diverse eateries in Singapore with numerous Michelin awarded restaurants.[2] It also has the most historical Peranakan buildings in Joo Chiat district. Joo Chiat was named after a businessman Chew Joo Chiat after he donated the land to the Municipality of Singapore.
