KDXU (890 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting a news/talk format. Licensed to St. George, Utah, the station is owned by Townsquare Media.[2] The studios are on Ridgeview Drive in St. George.
By day, KDXU is powered at 10,000 watts non-directional. But 890 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WLS Chicago. So to avoid interference, at night KDXU uses a directional antenna with a three-tower array. The transmitter is on East 2450 South near South 3210 East.[3] Programming is also heard on 99-watt FM translator K223DI at 92.5 MHz.[4]
