The station, part of Tom Quinn's Reno Media Group, operates with a transmitter atop Slide Mountain overlooking Reno, Carson City and Lake Tahoe, and its studios are located on Matley Lane in East Reno.
KLCA was also the fictional Los Angeles radio station featured at the beginning of the Robert Downey Jr. film, Air America.
