KPXQ (1360 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station, airing a Christian talk and teaching radio format. It is licensed to Glendale, Arizona, and serves the Phoenix metropolitan area. It is owned by Salem Media Group with studios on East Camelback Road in Phoenix.[2]
By day, KPXQ is powered at 50,000 watts non-directional, the highest output for commercial AM stations. But to protect other stations on 1360 AM from interference, at night it reduces power to 500 watts and uses a directional antenna. The transmitter is on also on Camelback Road, but at a different location near North 73rd Avenue.[3]
