Karaikudi City Municipal Corporation[1] is the civic body governing city of Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu state of India. It was the 22nd Municipal corporation in Tamil Nadu, and was established on 15 March 2024. It is headed by the mayor, who presides over a deputy mayor and is administrated by the City Commissioner. Karaikudi Urban Agglomeration area has adjoined with the surrounding areas of Sankarapuram, Kottaiyur, Kandanur, and Puduvayal town panchayats; and village panchayats that includes Koviloor, Ariyakudi, Amaravathiputhur, Iluppaikkudi and Managiri. The annual tax revenue of the corporation is expected to be about 57.25 crore rupees. Karaikudi is one of the major educational cities and tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu and had a population of 303,291[2] and area of 94.31 km² as in 2023.[3]
