Katav-Ivanovsky District (Russian: Ката́в-Ива́новский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia.[1] It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,415 square kilometers (1,319 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Katav-Ivanovsk.[1] Population (excluding the administrative center): 15,327 (2010 Census);[2] 17,739 (2002 Census);[4] 25,473 (1989 Soviet census).[5]
