Kiknursky District (Russian: Ки́кнурский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,680 square kilometers (650 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Kiknur.[1] Population: 9,795 (2010 Census);[2] 13,228 (2002 Census);[6] 16,347 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Kiknur accounts for 50.7% of the district's total population.[2]
