Krasnogorsky District (Russian: Красного́рский райо́н, Krasnogórskiy raion) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the krai. The area of the district is 3,070 square kilometers (1,190 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Krasnogorskoye.[1] Population: 16,228 (2010 Census);[3] 19,036 (2002 Census);[6] 20,255 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Kranogorskoye accounts for 36.9% of the district's total population.[3]
