LaRue, sometimes written as La Rue, is a village in Marion County, Ohio, United States. The population was 676 at the 2020 census. The village is served by Elgin Local School District. LaRue has a public library, a branch of Marion Public Library.[4] LaRue was named for Major William LaRue, who founded the town on June 3, 1851. [5]
