Leninsk-Kuznetsky District (Russian: Ле́нинск-Кузне́цкий райо́н, Russian pronunciation: [ˈlʲenʲɪnsk kʊzˈnʲɛt͡skʲij rɐˈjon]) is an administrative district (raion), one of the nineteen in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia.[1] As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Leninsk-Kuznetsky Municipal District.[4] It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,356 square kilometers (910 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsky (which is not administratively a part of the district).[1] Population: 23,760 (2010 Census);[3] 27,825 (2002 Census);[6] 29,752 (1989 Soviet census).[7]
