"Luce (Tramonti a nord est)"[1] (translating to 'Light (Sunsets in the North-East)') is a song by Italian singer-songwriter Elisa released on 6 March 2001 as the fourth and final extract from the second studio album Asile's World by Sugar Music. The English version of the song, "Come Speak to Me" was published in 2002.
With the song Elisa won the 2001 Sanremo Music Festival, being awarded six prizes, including the Mia Martini Critics' Prize and the Songwriter Award.[2] The song is considered by Italian music critics a classic of Italian music culture of the new millennium and one of the best song in the history of the Sanremo Festival, being included in numerous publications and lists, including Rolling Stone Italia,[3] TV Sorrisi e Canzoni,[4] Rockol[5] and Panorama.[6]
The song became the singer's first number one in the Italian singles chart, also debuting Swiss, Belgian and Dutch charts.
