Mardan District (Pashto: مردان ولسوالۍ, Urdu: ضلع مردان) is a district in the Mardan Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.[2][3] The district is named after Mardan city, which is also the headquarters of the district. The district is famous for its agriculture industry and its archaeological sites, specifically of Takht-i-Bhai,[4][5] Jamal Garhi[6] and Sawal Dher.[5][7][8]
The main tribe of Mardan is Yusufzai, that contribute more than half of the district population, there are also the more minor settled tribes such as the Mohmand, Utmankhel, Tareen and Khalil.[9][10][11]
