Marvel Gallery Editions

The size difference between a Marvel Gallery Edition hardcover and a Marvel Premiere Edition hardcover

Marvel's Gallery Editions are large-format premium hardcovers that "emphasise the size of the pages printed rather than the amount of comics within. (This means) 13in/33cm in height, and 9.3in/24cm in width".[1] The unsual size makes it close to 3in/7.6 cm taller and wider than a regular trade paperback.

The first Gallery Edition - Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers - was pitched as an "Oversized Hardcover",[2] and released in August 2019 to tie into the Loki TV series.

The initial use of the term Gallery Edition came a year later, with September 2020's Daredevil/Elektra: Love And War.[3]

The series has reproduced all four of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's 'colors' books, which "explore important figures in the lives of Marvel's greatest heroes, including Captain America, the Hulk, and Daredevil".[4] The first was Spider-Man: Blue in July 2023. Daredevil: Yellow followed in October 2023, Hulk: Gray in March 2024, and Captain America: White completed the set in July 2024.

For 2025, the company announced Marvel Masterpieces, a new version of the Gallery Edition. This format "will collect some of Marvel's most iconic and beloved stories ... in original format, serving as a time capsule that looks into the pop culture world of the 80s. The stories ... are presented as they were when initially released - complete with classic ads, fan letter, editorial and bullpen bulletin pages."[5]

The first release in the series will be Amazing Spider-Man: The Black Costume Year One on 10 June 2025,[6] then Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars on 8 July.
